Oral care, pictures and more!

Ok, first off, I'd like to post up the pictures that I promised you guys from last post!
I'll just put down the pictures according to the steps from last post.
1.
Just got out of the shower, got a warm sweatshirt on.

2.
This is the gel that I use.  You can get it at your local salon for about $12.

That's the amount of gel I use most of the time.

Gel in hair, time to go to sleep.

3.  Sorry, no pictures of me sleeping
4.
That's the product I use when I wake up.
It's the generic version of the Chi Silk Remedy.

This is one drop of it, but it's actually a bit too much.

The finished product! :D

Alright, so there's the pictures to go along with the post from 2 days ago, as promised :D
Now on to oral care.  This is going to be a very simple topic, but it will help you get better breath and whiter teeth cheaper!
The brush:
This is very simple stuff.  When you brush your teeth, give it a good effort.  Brush all your teeth evenly, making sure you get that small point where the gums meet the teeth.  Keeping this area clean will greatly attribute towards better breath.  Moreover, don't just brush and then rinse your mouth out.  Brush, rinse the tooth brush, brush, rinse the tooth brush, brush, rinse the tooth brush and then just spit.  Most of all, for better breath make sure that you BRUSH YOUR TONGUE! This will result in whiter teeth, much better breath, and many less cavities.  The last tip about brushing is the time you brush at.  At night it doesn't matter as much, but in the morning, if you're a coffee or tea drinker, brush your teeth after you drink the coffee or tea, this way you prevent some of the staining of the plaque on your teeth.
The next step is flossing.  I won't really go over this much, just make sure you get ALL of the space between your teeth and gums.  This will help your breath.
You can use mouthwash here, but I tend to not.
The final step is the really easy, cheap way to get whiter teeth.  At night, after you've brushed your teeth, put a small amount of hydrogen peroxide into your mouth.  This is a mild bleaching agent for your teeth.  DO NOT SWALLOW!  Anyway, rinse it around and leave it for about 5 minutes before spitting it out.  This will help kill harmful bacteria in your mouth as well as helping you with getting whiter teeth.

If you are very concerned with your teeth being whiter, there's one more thing you can do about once a week, and that is to brush with baking soda and salt.  Baking soda and salt are mild adhesives that will help grind off all of the plaque on your teeth.  Remember, it's the plaque that's stained, not the teeth themselves.  Afterwards rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide and spit, there's no need to keep it in your mouth this time.

That's it for the basic oral care here.

A few things before I go, updates, what not.

I am accepting requests now.  If there's something you would like to learn about or know, just comment on this post, or my following posts and I will do my best to take a day to write about it.

And an update in fashion in Seattle:

Hairstyling tip #1 Straight and textured style.

Alright, so today I'm going to present to you a very easy hairstyling tip that I do very frequently if I don't have much time in the morning.  This is really great for on-the-go.
1. In order to pull this off, you must shower at night.
2. After your shower apply a very small amount of gel into your hair, probably an amount of gel that's about the size of a quarter.  The amount of gel you use, however, really depends on how much hair you have.  I have very thin, blonde, medium length (the back goes just a bit under my ear lobes, then I have a section in the front that goes in front of the ears a bit and curves upwards into the bangs which go down to my eyebrows) hair, I use a little over a thumbnail's worth of gel.  Anyway, now that I've confused you, let's go on to step three.
3. Go right to sleep, sleep when your hair is wet.  The key hear is that you use your pillow as a styling tool.  Sleeping on your hair naturally makes it flatter, and the gel helps keep that straightness.  Also, when you stir in your sleep, you create some texture.
4.  When you wake up you'll be thinking that I am a fib, however, this is the final part. You can use anything like this, but I use a product called Chi Silk Infusions. This is a great product, I only need to use ONE drop of it every time I use it, so it'll probably last forever, and you can get the generic brand of this product at sally's for only $8.  Of course if you have longer hair, use more.  Anyway, put a small drop of this product into your hand and then rub your hands together really well. Next, just rub your hands on top of your hair, making downward strokes like you're pulling the hair down with the palms of your hands.  I'd start where there seems to be the largest amount of "bed head," and then move on from there.  The general rule is "bed head," top, bangs, sides, and then the rest in the back.
5. Congratulate yourself on a one minute hairstyle that's very malleable for any other styling, semi-protected from eat because of the gel, and natural looking!

Helpful tips for hair and skin cont.

As promised, I will now continue to give my hair care tips.
Alright, here we go.
Let's first talk about shampooing.  First off, make sure you get a shampoo that is right for your hair, I use the John Frieda-- Sheer Blonde series because it helps protect my hair from damage, it moisturizes it well, and it all around makes my hair look better.  However, I have not noticed it changing the color of my hair at all (I'm a natural blonde). I shampoo once a day.  There are, however, a lot of sites that will tell you that this is bad.  I have found that it actually greatly depends on the TYPE of hair you have.  I am going to give a few examples.
If you have fine hair, then it's most likely your hair doesn't look too oily, but also doesn't get too dry.
If you have thick hair and it does not get oily very quickly, then it is advised to shampoo only once every two days.  If you shampoo more than this, your hair can get very dry because of a lack of oil.  This makes the hair look damaged.
If you don't know if you have oily hair or not, here are some general rules to follow:
Because curly hair is a result of the oi to become oily quicker.  Because of more oil in the hair than most people, it is good to shampoo daily so thatls not traveling down the entire hair strand, it is likely that you have non-oily hair if you have curly hair.  Shampoo once every two days if this is the case.
If you have naturally straight hair then your hair probably has more oils in it and you should shampoo once a day.
If you exercised, you should shampoo.

Let's move on to conditioner now.  Again, make sure you get a product that is right for your hair.  Some of you won't even have to condition though.
If you have very thick hair then I advise against conditioning.  The reason for this is that conditioners usually coat your hair in something to make it more manageable or softer, smoother, etc.  This is bad for people with thick hair because the conditioner builds up on the hair and makes it look very flaky and damaged.
Now, if you have frizzy, thin, and/ or naturally drier hair, then I advise using a conditioner.  The best way to apply the conditioner is to put it on your fingertips and really work it through your hair.  Afterwards, leave it in for at least five minutes.  It's best to leave it in for longer if you can.  When you're done with your shower, just rinse it out.

NOW FOR THE BIG SECRET! :D
When you rinse your hair out for the last time before you get out of the shower, rinse it with the coldest water you can bear.  This does two things.  First, if you used conditioner, it keeps more of the conditioner in that helps keep the hair more soft and shiny. Secondly, The cold water dries in your hair much better.  If you use hot water to rinse, the way it evaporates creates more tangled and frizzy hair after a shower!

A few things before I'm done with this post:
Damaged hair can not be repaired, all the products lie, but a good way to make hair look healthier is to put mayonnaise and the yellow part of an egg into your hair and leave it as a masque.  The general rule is to leave it in for about 15-30 minutes.  Make sure it dries.  I wouldn't do this more than once a week, but it really helps put all the moisture back into your hair, giving it a fuller, smoother look.

That's all I can type for now, ahahah, I'll post more tips for hair and skin and also good fashion finds that I find after this.  I HOPE THIS HELPED!

Helpful tips for hair and skin

Alright, so I'm going to start with a couple of tips I learned to keep healthy skin.  I am a fair skinned male, I don't know if that makes any difference.  Anyway, here we go.
Make sure you exfoliate your skin at least once every three days.  I have bad acne, and so I do so every day.  It works very well, the acne is almost invisible now.  Baking soda can work well to exfoliate, but don't do that ver often! It is very hard on your skin.
When shaving (if you shave) you can use soap instead of shaving cream and it will work just as well.  This can save you some money.
It may not seem to make much difference, but buying a decent pore toner will really help make your skin look much smoother.  You don't need to use much of it, just twice a day using a cotton pad.
If you're prone to dark circles under the eyes, one of the best thing you can do is eat more fruit.  However, you can still use a simple dark circle remover which will help the rest of the way.
On eating habits, I found a few things that really help.
Don't eat too much vitamin E, it is fat soluble and so extra vitamin E will stay in your skin and make you look more bloated.
Green tea works wonders for making the skin look much clearer and radient.  It also helps remove the black circles under your eyes.
Don't eat too much sugar, it contributes to making the skin look unhealthy, however, a small amount will make the skin look slightly more radient.
Of course, make sure you get enough fruits and vegetables, they help a lot to give good looking skin.

The last part is a few habits too help your skin.
Try not to touch your face much, this will help prevent zits from appearing on the skin.
Shower before you go to bed, that way less chemicals get on your pillow and on to your face.
Try to sleep with the back of your head on the pillow, this will help prevent uneven wrinkles on the face.
Wash your face twice a day.
DO NOT use too many products that remove oil from the skin, your body will respond by producing MORE oil and you will have more zits.
ABOVE ALL make sure you use a decent moisturizer daily, such as Aveeno.

I will post hair care next, and other tips as I learn.  Good luck!
